Your first appointment is very important.  Your partner is welcome to accompany you.  It is important to bring your MSP card and provide us with your contact details.  If you have self-referred, It is very helpful to bring along copies of any relevant lab test results or ultrasounds that you have had.  It is advisible to have some knowledge of your past medical and family history.  If you take a lot of medicines, supplements, and vitamins, bring them along so we can make sure they are safe for you and your baby.  If you have questions that you feel are very important and need to be covered during the first visit, make sure you write it down.  Your first visit is usually 15 to 30 minutes long.  A lot of topics will be covered so make sure you prioritize the most important concerns.   You will have many opportunities during your regular check-ups to discuss other topics.
